MODEST MONDAY

Today's post is dedicated to those ladies who are looking  for gowns that have sleeves and the higher neck and back line. These gowns can be difficult to seek out, but I assure you they are in existence.  Being modest does NOT  limit your opportunities in the design of your wedding gown - you can still keep it trendy! Many brides are finding that with an excellent seamstress and a stunning strapless gown, can make for a masterpiece! You just need to think outside the box - and get creative! Many seamstresses are able to raise the neckline and add sleeves, making the gown look like there were no alterations done in the first place! If you find a strapless or other type of gown with limited sleeves, you can ask your bridal consultant to order extra fabric in with your dress so that you are able to extend the neckline and sleeves with the same fabric.

Recently I was flipping through the pages of "The Knot" magazine, fall 2012 issue, and was noticing that sleeves are actually starting to trend with designers. Women are becoming more and more immersed in vintage type fashion, so designers are incorporating the lace sleeves and necklines. You'll be able to see this with the designer Maggie Sottero, who is incorporating a separate lace piece into her bridal gown designers. Other designers that are also trending with the lace are Amsale, Monique Lhuiller, Jenny Lee, and Lela Rose.
